Dead to Me: Season 3.From the first scene of Dead to Me, when the short-fused Jen Harding (played by comedy veteran Christina Applegate) tries to fend off her means-well, but quite annoying neighbor Karen (Suzy Nakamura) who just dropped off a sorry-for-your-loss homemade Mexican lasagna, it was clear that this show was going to be something special. But it’s when our two beautifully flawed protagonists Jen and Judy Hale (Linda Cardellini) first interact at Friends of Heaven, a grief circle for those mourning the loss of their loved ones, that the show (ironically) comes to life. The soon-to-be platonic soulmates both come to the pilot with a lot of baggage, which is unpacked in hilarious and wonderfully messy ways over the course of 30 episodes. While it’s difficult to predict anything in this twisty, crime-infused dark comedy, it’s pretty safe to assume that no one could predict where our best friends ultimately end up in the series finale.
