Three teams in three locations – Denver, CO, Preston, CT, and Madison, NC – proceed to get paranormally freaked out over the ensuing days. Over time, outbursts of “Something’s happening, dude!” and “this feels like a warning” and “I just saw a full-out shadow” become one guy, captured on night vision, ripping his shirt off to better confront some supernatural thuggery. The Gist: The supernatural investigations of Ed and Lorraine Warren, whose work was adapted in the Amityville Horror films and The Conjuring Universe, are the basis for 28 Days Haunted, and manning the monitors and cameras linked to the show’s three investigative sites is the couple’s son-in-law Tony Spera. These are places that the show refers to as “some of America’s most haunted, but rarely investigated,” and include the Lumber Baron Inn in Denver, Madison Dry Goods Store in North Carolina, and Captain Grant’s Inn in Preston, Connecticut. Spera and his collaborator, paranormal expert and journalist Aaron Sagers, will keep tabs on the field work of three teams. In Denver, paranormal investigators Shane Pittman and Ray Cozzi are joined by Amy Parks, who is sensitive to ghostly energies. At the dry goods store, fifth-generation psychic medium Brandy Miller and firefighter/demonologist Jereme Leonard discover a casket set up in a freaky, out-the-way nook. And in Preston, psychic medium Sean Austin is paired with “tech gurus” Nick Simons and Aaron Thompson. Austin audibly greets whatever spooks might be hanging around on the second floor. “Ever since the beginning of my journey in the paranormal field,” he says, “it’s been like a calling for me to not only help the living, but the dead, these earthbound spirits, to give them peace and to ultimately help them cross over.”
